With so many courses comes golf tournaments. Myrtle Beach hosts many, some which include one of the oldest being the DuPont World Amateur Handicap Championship. This is the world's largest on-site championship. Golf Digest says it is the "Everyman Open", and Golf World says it's "the Mother of all Golf Tournaments." Nearly 50,000 golfers attend and participate in this tournament each year. This tournament is held at many of the courses in Myrtle Beach along with the International Summer Family Golf Tournaments, Veterans Golf Classic, and the National Police Golf Championship.

There are opportunities to play many rounds and also learn a few things. Myrtle Beach also has nearly a dozen golf schools, many have PGA instructors, great student to teacher ratios, and programs designed for level of play. So get a lesson while your down here on your vaction to, you will go home that much better.
