When you are golfing in Myrtle Beach you are golfing on some of the most delightfully diverse countryside in the land. You will find pine forests, river vistas, panoramic water views, shadowed swamp lands, and enchanting marshlands. The variety of land along this area of the country provides golf architects with some of the richest ecosystems in the world. The climate here is subtropical, making it a perfect place to get out the golf clubs and play a few rounds. The days of summer are hot and humid, hardly a time for a perfect tee time. So plan your golf vacation in the autumn months when you are sure to find crisp clear-blue skies and trees shedding their leaves, or during the spring when you are sure to breathe fresh open air and walk on top of green green grasses.
Golf here is fun, exciting and eclectic and has withstood the test of time here in Myrtle Beach since 1927 when Robert White designed the Pine Lakes International Country Club. This club is knowns as "the Granddaddy". In 1948 Robert Trent Jones designed the Dunes Golf and Beach Club which carried on golfs popularity along the Grand Strand, today the number of courses is around 120. With so many here it is often hard to find a favorite if you haven't played them all.
