Myrtle Beach SC restaurants make it into Wine Spectator Magazine.
Wine Spectator magazine has once again recognized a handful of Myrtle Beach area restaurants for their wine lists. There was a new winner as well to the magazine's choice. There are three separate tiers to divide winners into:
1. Grand Award - 73 winners
Only the best of the best are chosen here, a restaurant typically has to have a great wine program, it must be on its best game in all areas of wine service. The restaurants chosen here you can often find 1500 or more choices or more. They serve a great deal of high end bottles with mature vintages, serve large-format bottles, have great harmony with the menu, and their service is excellent.
2. Best of Award of Excellence - 802 winners
This tier gives recognition to restaurants that exceed the Award of Excellence. They have a have wines which come from top regions of the globe. They will often have 400 or more selections, they also have superior presentation.
3. Award of Excellence - 3,254 winners
A basic award for lists that offer a well-chosen selection of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. Typically, these lists offer at least 100 selections.
